Can paint be applied to the surface of an etched plaque?

No. Due to the shallow depth of the etching process, paint fill can only be applied to the recessed areas of the plaque. The surface of an etched plaque will remain a metal finish, although a partial Colorlast print can be added for an additional cost. If you need both the surface and the recessed areas of the plaque painted, please refer to our Precision Plaque product as an alternative to an etched plaque.

What kind of photo should I provide for a printed plaque or plaque portrait?

For the best results, we recommend providing a clear, high-quality original photo. The quality of the final product is only as good as the image you provide. Avoid submitting photos of photos, screenshots, scanned images, faxed images, or photocopies, as they can reduce the quality of the finished plaque.
